CNN’s Fanone Claims History Will ‘Take A Big Shit’ on Pence’s Head

Former U.S. Capitol Police officer and current CNN law enforcement analyst Michael Fanone appeared on Monday’s Don Lemon Tonight to rant that former Vice President Mike Pence gets no credit for saying he had no authority to overturn the 2020 presidential election and only did so in an attempt to save his reputation because he knows “history is going to take a big shit on his head.”

After playing some profanity-laced clips of January 6 rioters threatening Pence and other politicians, Lemon asked:

I mean, it’s, these rioters were hell-bent on attacking the former vice president. Now, finally Pence came out and said, you know, Trump was wrong and he could not overturn the election. Is that at least a step in the right direction? Especially when you hear someone like that guy, at least Mike pence, at least he, you know, is saying the right things.

Fanone was unimpressed:

Yeah, 13 months later. No. Mike Pence is unfit to serve the American people. He should just drift away into obscurity. I’m not interested in hearing his thoughts or opinions on whether or not he could overturn the election results, I think he’s looking to salvage what’s left of his political career, and his reputation. Because he knows that inevitably history is going to take a big shit on his head.

Lemon wrapped up the segment by thanking Fanone for his bluntness: “Michael Fanone. We love — we like you because we love your candor, and you are who you are. Thank you, I appreciate it, Mike.”

CNN and Lemon may love Fanone’s candor, but it may want to come to terms with his lack of facts. Last week may have been the strongest Pence has been in addressing his role on January 6, but it was hardly the first time.

DON LEMON: I mean, it’s, these rioters were hell-bent on attacking the former vice president. Now, finally Pence came out and said, you know, Trump was wrong and he could not overturn the election. Is that at least a step in the right direction? Especially when you hear someone like that guy, at least Mike pence, at least he, you know, is saying the right things.

LEMON:  Michael Fanone. We love — we like you because we love your candor, and you are
who you are. Thank you, I appreciate it, Mike.

FANONE: Thanks Don.

LEMON: Thank you.
