WATCH: Samantha Bee Tells Republicans To ‘Stop Transphobic’ Bills And ‘Mind Their Own F***ing Business’

Far-left comedienne Samantha Bee excoriated Republicans on Wednesday for pushing “transphobic” bills while telling them to “mind their own f***ing business.”

According to Bee, Republicans have introduced bills barring biological men from participating in women’s sports as well as barring children from having their bodies mutilated through hormone treatment simply out of “retaliation” for the Biden administration protecting transgender rights.

“This year, we’re seeing a tidal wave of transphobic legislation targeting kids, largely in retaliation for President Biden’s executive order to protect trans rights,” she said.

Even though conservatives have cited multiple examples of biological men (not to mention scientific evidence) having an advantage over women in sports, Bee simply said that conservatives made up a “problem that absolutely doesn’t exist.”

“Conservatives are staging a coordinated attack on trans kids by making up a problem that absolutely doesn’t exist. … Most of the legislators who sponsored anti-trans bill this year can’t even cite a single instance where trans girls competing in sports has caused problems,” she said. “Rather, these laws stem from the very incorrect misconception that trans women are not women.”

“They falsely claim trans women automatically have more testosterone and therefore more muscle mass than cis women,” Bee continued. “But studies don’t show a consistent relationship between testosterone and athletic performance.”

Bee then accused Republicans of simply “fear-mongering” in order to gin up votes.

“So why are conservatives actually targeting trans athletes? Fear-mongering, baby. Just like with the bathroom bills, Republicans are trying to scare their base into voting for people like Governor if-life-didn’t-go-well-Pat-Sajak,” she continued, referring to Republican Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves.

“Let’s be real. Conservatives don’t actually care about this. They just want to politically profit from excluding trans people from yet another public space. At the end of the day, Republicans need to stop policing other people’s bodies, mind their own f***ing business, and let trans people live their lives,” Bee concluded.

Bee made this exclaimation on the same day that The Guardian published a report about New Zealand transgender weightlifter Laurel Hubbard being a strong contender to win a medal at the summer Olympics in Tokyo. Hubbard lived 35 years as a man and did not enter international weight lifting until after transitioning.

“The insider said that while teams did not have to be named until 5 July, under the new qualification rules, which had come into effect after several competitions were lost because of the Covid-19 pandemic, Hubbard was sure of a place in Tokyo if fit,” reported the outlet. “It means Hubbard, who won silver at the 2017 world championships and was sixth after a severe injury in 2019, is almost certain to become the first transgender athlete to compete at an Olympics. And while she will be the oldest weightlifter at the Games, she will also have a genuine chance of a medal given her qualifying lifts rank her fourth out of the 14 qualifiers in the 87kg-plus super heavyweight category for Tokyo.”

Former Olympic gold medalist Caitlyn Jenner, previously Bruce Jenner before identifying as transgender, has publicly stated their opposition to biological boys competing in women’s sports.

“This is a question of fairness,” Jenner told TMZ. “That’s why I oppose biological boys who are trans competing in girls’ sports in school.”

“It just isn’t fair and we have to protect girls’ sports in our schools,” Jenner continued.
